Why should I consider Image PILOT?

Image Pilot is the only system which currently offers all of the advantages of a mini-PACS system and coupled with our unique automated CR processing. From data entry to image output it is the simplest and most efficient product available. The complete imaging chain is present in Pilot. Data entry is at the workstation, either manual or input from an information system. Image review takes place at the workstation and image diagnosis is carried out here too. Ultimately Pilot is capable of handling multi-modality digital imaging and offering digital archival storage of tens of thousands of images. Nothing else covers so many functions and at such good value.

What are the key benefits v other systems on the market?

Most CR systems offer the capability to acquire x-ray images and to optimise them prior to export. The Konica Minolta Image Pilot takes this process a little further and in some key areas.
First, it dispenses with the need to select animal and body part algorithms. Pilot offers a unique auto-processing facility. The veterinarian or practice nurse simply identifies the animal, using name and ID number for example, and inserts the cassette into the reader. The Image Pilot then automatically recognises the anatomy present in the image data and optimises the image ready for viewing. This process takes only around 30 seconds. In addition, should you make any repetitive changes to the image, the Image Pilot will 'learn' the new 'ideal' image, and adjust its automated output accordingly.
The second benefit is seen at the review console. Most CR systems are provided with a low-resolution, non-diagnostic review platform. Image Pilot image review is carried out on a fully diagnostic reporting workstation ( 2 megapixels ) Here the images can be reviewed and diagnosed prior to export. Reports can also be attached and the data sent in DICOM format.
Additionally it can output to CD with embedded viewer software, allowing full image review on any external ( Windows or mac) platform. Images can also be exported as JPEG where they can be attached, for example, to email correspondence(s).
Image Pilot also provides a local archive for the acquired CR images with a storage capability of around 30,000 CR images. In addition, the local HD can import data from other digital sources such as CT, MRI and Ultrasound scanners. These images can be reviewed on the same diagnostic workstation and multi-modality animal images can be merged into one patient file. This is the beginning of a true digital Picture Archive and Communication System (PACS) Multiple authorised users can access the image data and review the images independently.
